Is Australia getting Lorcana TCG?

Written by Liam Bosecke

UPDATE (March 2024)

Australia is, as of this week, getting the first four sets of Lorcana in a small limited release. The official Australian distributor has managed to secure enough product for Local Aussie Game Stores to supply enough product for a limited release built for players to encourage the building up of the Lorcana community and for stores to run organized play events. If you want to know when this is happening, ask your Local Game Store!

If you want your local store to start running Lorcana Events, ask them if they have an account with 'Modern Brands'.

If they don't they can send an email to: sales@modernbrands.com.au.

As of one week ago, it was true that we weren't going to be getting any Lorcana from the first four sets.

UPDATE (February 2024)

Unfortunately, we have confirmation that Australia & New Zealand will not recieve this game in 2023.

To the disappointment of many, Ravensburger have decided to limit Lorcana TCG to only a few regions. We are aware that this product will be heavily allocated in the United States, the main region of the games first wave. We have been told this by Ravensburger's Australian distributor.

Game stores usually get given their allocations within three to four weeks of the products release.

We feel you spain.

Officially, the first wave of the game will be released in Germany, the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxemburg. It has been unoffically said that further global distribution is possible for the second wave which may be close to the end of 2024.

The first set will contain 204 cards in total, all spoiled cards can be seen here. We have also seen glimpses of gameplay, which does appear to borrow game design elements from trading card games that already exist, some fans say that the game first appears to be a hybrid between Magic: the Gathering (Tap, Attack, Counter), Keyforge (X Ambers to win) and Hearthstone (Fixed Mana).

A glimpse at the games overview.

There is a lot of hype being generated around this new game. We can only advise you to be careful with pre-orders. Only order from trusted sellers or your local game stores, there are already fakes floating about. It can be expected that tehre will be many more being made in the months ahead as we get closer to the products release too.

If you aren't located in the listed countries above, then unfortunately you'll not be able to get Locarana for the time being. Sit tight though, as we learn more, we may get some suprises in the future.
